Rain Running

I ran in the rain yesterday at the track. It was AWESOME! Remember, I'm crazy enough to run in the rain as long as there isn't any lightning, so don't think running will be called off just because of the rain. Now if you don't want to come because it's raining, that's your problem. I'm just saying I'll be there if you want to come. Running in the rain is actually lots of fun, especially here in Texas where it's not cold when it rains.

Faithful on Saturday

Since we announced starting the running club I have not missed one Saturday yet. There was one Saturday when I was all by my lonesome (Lisa was sick) and I trudged the middle school track alone. However, I felt good afterward and I figured out that my knee only hurts a little while. If I stick it out and take an easy pace it goes away. I used to run a lot more and miss it. I look forward to Saturdays at 8:00 AM for some good running. I want all the young men to know I will be there faithful and true to the end... Of 3 miles of running anyways. Till this Saturday!

Sorry I'm lame, but I make up for it with pictures

Sorry everyone if you showed up Wednesday and didn't see me there. I was in Austin this week for some amazing training for work, and when I say amazing I mean the incredibly boring kind of amazing.

However, while I was here I went to http://www.runnersworld.com/ and looked up Austin Texas off their "where to run" subtab. They had a couple sweet places to run around here and I picked the shortest route which was still 6 miles and got a couple guys together from my training group and we went and ran around the river here in Austin.
(above: where we started the run, Barton Springs Pool)

It was amazing and I loved it so much I almost wet myself at least 3 times in the first 2 miles. The trails were made of finely crushed granite (very good for running) and ran along the river with lots of trees and shade and there were people everywhere, oh man it was golden. Austin is a really amazing town. I would recommend everyone go to BYU for college, but if you don't get in try to go to UT because this town is so sweet! (Above: The next day I cruised down this street on my bike at 35+mph in the bike lane and was passing cars, so super sweet. But I digress)

Running is so much fun, but it wasn't always that way. It used to stink pretty big time and I couldn't run more than 1/2 a mile before I thought I was going to spew blood. But I kept at it a little at a time and now I really really enjoy my runs. So much so, that I get mad when I start to get tired because I want to just keep running. Crazy? Who you calling crazy? I'm not crazy, I'm a runner!

2nd time out

I'm sure I'm the only one reading this post, however, I am dedicated. Today was only our second time out and we picked up a few new faces. Curtis and Austin joined the ranks of jackrabbit-like running machines and we learned a few new stretches and yelled at kids throwing rocks on the bleachers. So many good times it's almost unbelievable.
